Staying Safe on and Around the Lake

This page will fill with current information on best practices to navigate, boat, swim, and other recreational activities on Round Lake.

NATIONAL SAFE BOATING WEEK • May 16 - May 22, 2015

National Safe Boating Week provides a not-to-be-missed opportunity for boaters to refresh their knowledge of boating safety--even for the most experienced skippers! More information click here.

WDNR Boating Saftey Requirements

Anyone born on or after January 1, 1989 is required to complete a boating safety course to legally operate a motorized boat or personal watercraft (PWC) on Wisconsin waters. DNR recreational safety specialists recommend all boat operators complete a safety course. For more information see the WDNR website.

Channel Buoys

RLPOA has obtained the required permits for the navigational buoys that are placed on the lake. You will note some changes this year, as the markings will come into compliance with navigation regulations. This will require the purchase of new buoys and repair of others. Please be careful when passing near the buoys so you do not come into contact with the actual buoys--they damage easily so be sure to give them plenty of clearance. If you observe vandalism to any of the marker buoys, please take pictures if possible and report damage information to the Sawyer County Sheriff.
