Fire Department Checking Driveways; FAQs
A fire department representative asked RLPOA to forward this on to the Round and Little Round property owners:
* Starting this spring and throughout the summer, the fire departments in Sawyer County will be checking driveways simply to ensure there are no obstructions like trees and tree branches which might prevent getting a large fire truck from getting to your property in the unlikely event of a fire.
* No action is required on your part and no one will knock on your door. You may see a marked fire department vehicle (not a large engine/tanker). This will be done during the daytime. This is a multi-County effort. If you have questions, contact your town’s fire department.
An email was sent with the above information to all property owners with an email on file. The following good questions came in:
1) Will the fire department notify us if we have branches that need to be removed?
Yes, the fire department will notify you, most likely by sending a letter, since they will not be knocking on doors.
2) Will the fire department remove the trees or tree branches that need to be removed?
No, the fire department will not remove them. They will contact you.
