Hello RLPOA members,
RLPOA appreciates your support through membership dues and/or Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) donations. As of today, you are one of the 436 of the 689 (63%) property owners that is a member. These numbers include a few people who live near the lake or are family members of lake owners. In an effort to expand our reach of active members, we are asking for your help. Below are some ways to help:
- We have a new Members Map on RoundLakes.org (from Home page, click on Organization > Membership; or click on link below) showing who on the lake is a member. This map is current data as of 7/1/2024.If someone owns more than one property, only one property is indicated. If you see friends and neighbors on the lake who are not members, please let them know about RLPOA and ask them to consider joining and making an AIS contribution.
- If you have family and friends who visit your lake home, consider asking them to join as a “Friend of the Lake”. They can do so by emailing me at Membership@RoundLakes.org with their name, your name/relationship to you, mailing address, email, and the amount they would like to contribute. Current rates are $45 for a one-year membership, $90 for a two-year membership and any amount of AIS donation is welcome. I’ll set them up in our system and send them login information. They can either pay securely online with a credit card or send a check to RLPOA Box 1070 Hayward, WI 54843.
- Alternatively, if your family and friends would rather not be a member and commit to annual fees, they can make an AIS contribution to RLPOA anytime by logging on to RoundLakes.org and clicking on "Donate Today". In the comments sections, I suggest they share your name/relationship. Alternatively, they can send in a check to RLPOA Box 1070 Hayward, WI 54843.
- Encourage your neighbors off the lake / across the road to become members.
We are a 100% volunteer organization, and all our monies goes to helping keep Round and Little Round Lakes safe and clean.
In part, this approach to a membership drive was recommended by Mike Traeger, one of our members on Peninsula Road. At a spring Dine Around, Mike had shared the idea of adult sons and daughters becoming members. I expanded on his feedback and are seeking your help in spreading the word about how others can support RLPOA.
What action will you take? Will you print a few copies of this letter and share with a person or two (or "forward" this email)? This summer is a perfect time to spread the word about RLPOA. Please let me know what action you took and if you have feedback. I hope to see you at the RLPOA Annual Meeting on August 17 at Powells at 9am.
