My wife Michelle and I purchased our cabin on Little Round Lake in the Spring of 2005, when our twin
girls were just a few months old. To this day, the greatest family time we have is at the lake. Both my
wife and I fell in love with Northwest Wisconsin when we were just kids; me with summer trips to
Spooner and Minong with family and friends, and my wife with her family at their cabin on Pike Lake,
near Fifield. My college years at West Point and 5 years on active duty in the Army serving overseas
in Germany and Bosnia helped me see the world, but at the same time, left me longing to get back to
the Midwest. After leaving the Army, I was able to navigate my way back and have been working for
Boston Scientific in Minneapolis for over 20 years.
The past year and a half have certainly given all of us a lot more time to think about what matters
most in life. For me; like many, my thoughts quickly turn to my family and those special places we go
as a family. For us, there is no more special place than our cabin, which is why I’m so excited about
the opportunity become a member of the board and continue to help preserve this special place for
many years to come. I look forward to the opportunity to serve all of you.
I believe the leadership and communication skills that I learned while serving in the Army, along with
my over 20 years of experience at Boston Scientific have helped to prepare me to be a valued
member of the board. I understand the importance of relationship building, collaboration and
creating an environment where all voices can be heard, and diversity of thought can be harnessed for
the greater good of all.
As a new member, I would be willing to work in any area where support and leadership are needed.
Like most, it is important to me that we continue to reduce the spread of Eurasian water milfoil,
maintain the quality of the water, and strive to make the lake as safe as possible.
My primary goal as a member of the board would be to ensure that the needs of the association are
being addressed and that we are taking care of the lake so that future generations can enjoy it for
years to come.
